ASSISTANT PRODUCT MANAGER

Northern International Inc. (NII), a privately held company that designs, manufactures and marketsa comprehensive array of outdoor lighting products aimed at the Home Improvement/Home Decor Market is looking for an experienced Assistant Product Manager to join its team.

NII was created in 1997 and is still directed by its 3 founding partners who have been in the import and product development business since 1979. Obsessive customer responsiveness, entrepreneurial flexibility, technological innovation and high-quality consumer products continue to be the hallmarks of NII’s success.

We are located in Delson Quebec on Montreal’s South Shore halfway between the Champlain and Mercier bridges. We are 10 minutes from Brossard.

Job description

• Assists the Product Manager with general administrative support
• Communicates with factories in China to resolve issues and advance manufacturing process
• Ensures that all product sheets are complete and accurate especially weights, dimensions,
• UPC codes and other vital product information, etc.
• Manages the ordering and follow up of product samples with the Chinese factories.
• Will also coordinate and organize the receiving and storing of these samples as well as their
• distribution out to the Sales team, when necessary.
• Compiles market/internet competitive shopping and product information
• Assists Product Manager with the preparation of sales and marketing presentations, as
• required
  

Requirements

• May handle special projects and even coordinate, as required
• Experience working with Chinese factories
• Experience with consumer retail goods
• Excellent computer knowledge in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
• Strong ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and follow-up
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Naturally independent character with the ability to work alone when required
• Bilingual (English/French) with excellent written and verbal communication
