9-1-1 Emergency Centre
The city’s 9-1-1 Emergency Centre is the port of entry for all emergency calls made on Montréal’s territory, serving 1.8 million citizens. Citizens who call 9-1-1 must answer the dispatcher’s questions so that the dispatcher can determine the nature of the emergency and send the appropriate responders to the premises.

The 9-1-1 Emergency Centre plays a vital role in organizing emergency services for the island of Montréal. Citizens should be aware that 9-1-1 is not an information service. If you need information related to municipal services, please call (514) 872-1111.

In non-emergencies, citizens may also call 4-1-1 (directory assistance) or look through the white pages of the telephone directory.
