Job Overview:
Our client is one of the world’s largest hotel chains. They are currently looking for an Executive Chef responsible for overseeing all kitchen staff, food preparation and cooking activities. Candidate with strong knowledge of trends in the Western and Asian food industry is recommended for the position.
Responsibilities:
• 5 years+ experience in hotel or club house management
• Supervising kitchen staff activities and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
• Strong ability in training staff, maintaining food quality and assigning tasks.
• Strong knowledge in researching and responding to trends in the Western and Asian cuisine.
• Strong knowledge in planning and writing both Western and Asian food menus that appealing to the clientele.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of all food preparation areas.
• Ability in budgeting and financial planning to control cost.
• Willing to participate in business development.
Requirements:
• Culinary degree is required.
• Knowledge of FOODSAFE, workplace hazardous materials is generally required.
• Must have proven experience as a Chef, Cook, Catering manager or equivalent.
• Human resource management skills are required: recruitment, selection, training, performance management.
• Financial management skills such as basic accounting and budget calculations.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills.
• Strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
• Time management skill.
Languages:
• Spoken and written in English and/or French
• Spoken and written in Chinese
